Immediately we noted that this was a denser and unusually muscular example of this traditional Highland make. The panel were surprised and delighted to note a wealth of engine oil, soot, lemon cough drops, clove rock, hessian, dunnage, a sinewy maltiness and a mutton-esque meatiness along with sheep wool and hay loft aromas. With water we found oatmeal, cooling wort, stodgy grist, bailed hay, buttered brown toast and Guinea Pig hutch straw. The palate we found to be equally fatty and thick. Noted was grilled artichoke, orange oils, crushed ivy, baking soda, tiger balm, fizzy sherbet and strong barley wine. Reduction gave us lemon barley water, toasted seeds, trail mix, rye bread, lemon thyme and roast duck.
