QUEEN STREET: Barely Legal! Wood influence in young spirit.

Event Details

Tonight we will be taking our members on a very different road as we will be focusing on the flavours imparted from the wood, rather than from the spirit itself. We will compare three whiskies distilled from the same batch. We let them mature for a little over three years now, but in three different casks a bourbon hogshead, Pedro Ximenez and Olorosso. What we will see together is how much the wood has impacted the spirit, even in so little time. This is a rare insight in the life of a whisky that really few people get to experienced outside distilleries. This will by no mean be a testament of the quality of the spirit, since those samples were drawn straight from our warehouse without the control of the tasting panel. Instead we offer members a unique learning opportunity and the ability to put not just words, but also flavours, on what you know about maturation. some light platters to share will be served during the tasting.
