How would you like to sample rare whiskies and learn something about yourself all in the name of scientific research? Volunteer whisky tasters are required to be guinea pigs at a series of secretive scientific research experiments happening at Islay House for this year’s Feis Ile.
These Project Flavour Behaviour events are part of a research experiment being carried out by The Scotch Malt Whisky Society in partnership with Dr Adam Moore from the University of Edinburgh’s Psychology Department.
Participants at the free events will take a written test about personality traits and then taste special samples of whisky. A previous knowledge of whisky is NOT required – an open mind and adventurous spirit is all you need.
The findings from the event will be analysed by Dr Moore and feed into the ongoing research experiment, which will be unveiled in more detail later this year.
There are two test sessions available, 2.30-3.30pm or 4.30-5.30pm. Limited spaces are available and sign-up is free, register here.
