28 Queen Street has closed its doors this July to undergo a major refurbishment. Take a peak behind closed doors to see how the space is taking shape ahead of its launch party on 5 August.

The £300,000 building project, will include a new whisky bar on the ground floor of the Georgian townhouse, which will be visible and accessible from street level.IMG_1328

The new bar will feature a constantly changing menu of whiskies; the Society releases a new selection of its rare single cask single malt whiskies every month, providing guests with a kaleidoscope of whisky flavours to explore.

A limited range of extremely rare proprietary whiskies carefully selected for the SMWS by a special guest curator will also be available at the bar.

The Dining Room restaurant, previously on the ground floor, will move upstairs to the first floor and be expanded to include features such as a Charles Heidsieck champagne table. IMG_1332

A new shop area is also being established, while two new private lounges are also being created for the Society’s members.

Queen Street will reopen on August 1st, and will host a free open house event on August 5th.

Due to popular demand, a second open house will be held on August 10th. Tickets are free and available to reserve online now.
