Around 7 pm our guests were welcomed in the Quaich bar with a wonderful welcome dram of Cask No: 36.127 and walked into the beautiful dinner room half an hour later to enjoy a three course dinner. Here’s what they had in store:
A starter with wood pigeon, accompanied by SMWS 35.179
A main course with lamb, accompanied by SMWS 44.75
A dessert with warm chocolate and ice cream, accompanied by SMWS 46.40
The courses were presented at leisure with plenty of time for good conversation.
The guests were pleasantly surprised by the whisky and food pairings.
The main course pairing stood out especially well, although the starter and dessert also worked well with the whiskies chosen.
Then it was time to repair to the Quaich bar again to savour a cup of coffee, a cigar (on the balcony) and a wonderful smoky dram of SMWS 29.194
The crowd was really cosmopolitan with people from Arizona, Texas, France, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands.
