We’re hard at work getting ready to re-open our Members’ Rooms this month. Here’s everything you need to know before we welcome you back

Reading Time: 2 minutes

It’s been a long and sometimes frustrating wait. But we’re delighted to announce that we’re getting ready to open the doors to our Members’ Rooms again and welcome you back to savour that first delicious dram since the coronavirus pandemic forced us to close our doors.

Of course, like everyone else we’re having to adapt to deal with the changed circumstances.

Here’s what you need to know, with your health and safety as our top priority.

Monday, 6 July: 19 Greville Street, London.

Open Monday-Friday 4.30-11pm

Tuesday, 7 July: The Courtyard outdoor space at The Vaults.

Open Tuesday-Friday 3-9pm and Saturday 12-9pm

Wednesday, 15 July: The Vaults, 28 Queen Street, Edinburgh and 38 Bath Street, Glasgow will all be open

Open Tuesday-Friday 4.30-11pm and Saturday 12-11pm

To comply with government guidelines, social distancing measures will be in place at every venue and all members will have to book their visit in advance.

Each booking will secure you a table for two hours.

Online reservations are open from Thursday 2 July at 4pm for 19 Greville Street and The Courtyard at The Vaults. Click on each link for each page to access our online reservations.

You can book the remaining Members’ Rooms from Wednesday, 8 July.

*Please note that visitors to our locations in Scotland will also need to provide contact details for all guests.

On Wednesday and Thursdays there will be tastings during the last session at The Courtyard at The Vaults. We’ll be organising further tastings in all Members’ Rooms, looking to share some of the drams that were released during lockdown which are available now online. Watch this space for more information!

While we’re preparing to re-open our Members’ Rooms, you can still pop into 28 Queen Street this weekend and take advantage of our Society bottle shop.

We have a huge selection on offer, which won’t include our First Friday bottlings, so it’s a great chance to catch up on any whiskies you may have missed out on over the past couple of months.

Have a look at our Bar Bible https://www.smws.com/qs-bar-bible to see what bottlings are available, then either email jessica.crummy@smws.com to pre-order your selection, or pop in and speak to one of our ambassadors for a recommendation.

Please note that social distancing measures will be in place, and you might be asked to queue.

Our Queen Street bottle shop is open on Friday and Saturday from 11am-3pm.

Once our Members’ Rooms are open you will be able to drop in to purchase bottles without having to make a reservation. We will manage this at each of the Members’ Room receptions, serving one member at a time with a queue system in operation if required.
