Description

The nose was gentle and attractive – yellow roses and sunny meadows, lemon curd, apricot custard Danish and various fruity sweets (jujubes, fruit salad chews) – also freshly cut timber and candle wax. The mouth-feel was syrupy, chewy and sweet – then it expanded into green apples, ‘soor plooms’ and blackcurrant; a slight bitterness of liquorice and chewed pencils to finish. The reduced nose found chalky sweets, custard creams, cakes (pineapple humps, French Fancies) and hints of trail mix (coconut, dried pineapple and papaya). The palate improved with water – banana and walnut loaf; finishing with chilli on fresh pineapple, mustard seed and pepper.
