This dram had delicious and delightful sharp fragrances of perfumed fruits (cherries, damson jam, plum wine), flowers, Crunchie bars, orange liqueur, vanilla ice-cream and banana custard – all made more complex by hints of nail parlours and old libraries. The palate had exotic fruits, barley sugars, chocolate marzipan logs, caramel, honey and playful Christmas spices. The reduced nose retained tremendous character – caipirinha cocktails, basil and apple sorbet and chocolate oranges, all served in a boudoir (perfume, nails, flowers). The reduced palate boasted waxy fruits, honeycomb, stoop waffles, hints of oak shavings and tarry ropes, with ginger snap biscuits dunked in rose-petal tea.
