Glenlivet

First bottled by the Society in 1983.

The first distillery on Speyside to take out a licence. Its whisky was so famous, even before it went legalï it gave its appellation to all Speyside, until the other distilleries were compelled by law to attach the name only as a suffix, while the original was allowed to add 'The' to its name. The malt was served to George IV during ("he would drink none other").
