Description
The Panel were jolted by an unexpectedly powerful dram bristling with gauze, hemp, swimming pools, green peppercorns in brine, soot, wood char, citrus jellies, bandages, TCP, cherry cough sweets, marzipan and over-ripe banana. Water shook up old wood and dusty leather with rosewater, wildflowers, pollen, sawdust, medical tinctures, old workshops, burning rope and sun-dried kelp. The palate was full of seashore aspects, beach pebbles, tar liqueur, boiler smoke, an old tractor engine, crispy popadoms, sandalwood and grubby wax. A little water brought out black olive tapenade, salted caramel, seawater, peppered mackerel and rye bread with a few crushed mint leaves. Monkfish wrapped in bacon and smoked cheese finished things off.
