Youthful vigour and vitality were the order of the day with this biting and well-spiced wee highlander. The nose showed notes of orange bitters, charcoal, BBQ sauce, red fruit compotes, grilled vegetables and prunes in cheap desert wine. Water emboldened the spiciness and added straw, dry earth, black pepper and chopped parsley. To taste it was full of hot chilli peppers, strawberry jam on toast, pocket-softened wine gums and creme caramel with a fistful of sawdust and pencil shavings. Water added orange vitamins, an old school desk with inky jotter, herbal toothpaste, coriander marmalade and sunflower oil.
