Initial aromas combined the tangy enthusiasm of fresh lemon skin and stripped twigs with velvety vanilla and clotted cream over milk chocolate. A spiciness rolled in like a haze of nutmeg and cinnamon through a pine forest, bringing with it the fruity earthiness of fresh rhubarb, perhaps also with a healthy covering of custard. The palate diverted the spice into realms of chilli jam and candied ginger to give a reassuring wallop to the taste tank that calmed with water to juicy fruits and floral fields. Lime pickle and ginger cake sat alongside frangipanes and sugar-coated almonds with spicy perfume and Turkish delight whilst the finish delivered plenty of new oak and oat biscuits.
