The nose starts out as shy and tentative as early snowdrops – and just as fresh (lime, laundry, etc.); it then finds mineral notes of pumice and chalk, before some fruit joins in (apricot, pear, Gooseberry) – leading to a subtle and sophisticated resolution. The palate is different – a sweet and dry dusting of cocoa powder on dark chocolate mousse, chocolate-flavoured breakfast cereal, Neapolitan ice-cream and bramble jelly. The reduced nose is light and fragrant, with restrained suggestions of herb and flower meadows. The palate now adds slightly more earthy notes of nuts and liquorice to the lovely clean honeycomb sweetness.
