Description
The nose conjured an artist setting up (easel, canvas, paint) in the distillery gardens (honeysuckle, lime flowers, grass) – clean and delicate with the perfumed sweetness of summer creams. The palate was also sweetly perfumed – lemon and lime cheesecake, apple strudel, cherry pieces in dark chocolate; then some willow twig and oak traces on the finish, but entirely quaffable and more-ish. On the reduced nose, the artist was rolling a cigarette among the roses. The palate now boasted easy citric sweetness (Starburst, three fruit marmalade) – lip-smacking, pleasing and gentle, with a very slight charred oak and lemon peel tingly heat lingering on.
